saw a post abt HBO removing shows that suggests ppl just “burn dvds” but everyone doesnt know how to do that so here is one way to do that
- get blank dvds (Both +R or -R work, I think +R is slightly cheaper, the difference is rewritability), these are not very expensive for the amount you can get in bulk (if you are in the US 100 of them is about 30$ at walmart)
- an external DVD drive that plugs in via usb is also around 20-40$ (it tends to be closer to 20)
- download DVDFlick (free)
- if you don’t already have the mp4/mpeg of whatever media you want to burn, you can download movies/shows off of sites like gomovies.sx and soap2day
gomovies.sx will have a download button that looks like this
below the video you can choose one of these
if you click streamlare for example and then the download button it will take you here where the mp4 is
(if you’re on an iphone/ipad, clicking download will save it to your files app)
- if you cant find the download button on soap2day you can also install a video downloader extension which will find the movie for you
- at this point you can drag and drop it into a google drive or keep it on your computer but if you still want it on dvd ->
- open dvd flick, drag and drop the video
- click “project settings”
- give it whatever title you want, you can change encoder to “normal” (default is below normal if you are doing other things on the computer). you dont need to change target size or thread count (unless you want to)
- insert a blank dvd into your drive, make sure you click “burn project to disc”
- click accept then click “create dvd” next to menu and project settings. it will create a destination folder and this dialogue box will pop up when you click “create” on more dvds, just click “yes” and then “okay” on the box that appears after it
it’ll take a couple hours, once its done take a sharpie & write whats on it and stick it in a case . or dont . im not ur mom

I’ll spare you the boring details, but up until now, the script has reverted the vertical nav update by essentially waiting for the page to load most of the way, and then quickly moving everything back to where it should be. This works decently fine of course, but of course there are issues with feature parity when it comes to things that Tumblr removes outright. And every time Tumblr removes another feature, I have to manually spend anywhere from minutes to hours trying to replace it.
HOWEVER, update 3.0 does away with all of that by simply disabling the flag that marks your account as part of the vertical nav beta test before the page loads. This reverts your dashboard to the proper layout without shuffling anything around after the page loads and effectively disables the vertical navigation layout and all future updates to it.
I owe a massive thanks to @twilight-sparkle-irl for knowing how to deobfusticate Tumblr’s hidden settings! I couldn’t have done this without your work!!!
As of version 3.0.3, the bug where it displays an empty page with the login button should be fixed for good! As a bonus, you can now simply click on the git link in the post with Tampermonkey installed to instantly update or install the script without copying it!

Let me set the scene, the bathroom is shard betwix 412 and 414. The toilet is like any you’d find in a public restroom and sounds let a jet engine.
Your room mate calls your name frantically at 10pm. There is water leaking from the handle area of the toilet (it is clean but still). You fill out a work order to fix that because that’s not normal. It is now 10:15. Your roommate takes a shower, you wait to use the bathroom. It is now 11pm. Your roommate comes out. You go in. The. toilet. doesn’t. Flush. The sink doesn’t turn on. The shower is off. You make it the shared hall bathroom to wash your hands. There’s people in the hall. Shared kitchen sink doesn’t work. The floors above and below are out of water. The buildings water seems to have been turned off. It is now 12:45 and the toilet is flushing but the color is dirty yellow. The sinks are running the same color. Is this your fault? Was your work order the reason for this late night incident? You go to bed.
In the morning your water is the brackish yellow of unused pipes, you run the sink and shower and watch it slowly fade back to clear. Not the toilet it stays brackish both in the bowl and leaking.
Later you get an email saying the water will be off for two hours to fix the issues. You receive nothing about the toilet. You wonder is this all your fault? It’s funny as hell though.
Please return us to a world where Notp and squick are used for a ship you don’t like instead of just making up a load of bullshit about how immoral it is or w/e lol
a short selection of concepts and phrases that used to be commonplace in fandom and we’d really benefit from making that a thing again:
NOTP: the opposite of an OTP (One True Pairing). It is a ship a fan strongly dislikes. The word is a portmanteau of ‘no’ and ‘OTP’ and thus is not a contraction of any particular phrase.
Squick: anything that is a deep-seated, visceral turn-off.
Squicks may be shared by many fans or be specific to one; one person’s kink may be another person’s squick.
YKINMKATO, or kink-tomato: Your Kink Is Not My Kink, And That’s Okay: used to indicate support for fannish diversity and to distinguish between disapproval or kink shaming and simply having different taste.
DLDR: Don’t Like, Don’t Read: a phrase used to warn against complaints about an aspect of fic or meta. A “live and let live” philosophy of fandom, which places the
responsability for avoiding content one doesn’t want to see on the side
of the fanwork consumer, rather that on the creator’s.
SALS: Ship And Let Ship: similar to the above specifically about shipping tastes.
YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary: a phrase used to acknowledge that any given individual’s personal opinion on the topic at hand may differ due to their own tastes, standards, values, experiences, etc.
As the OP points out, all of these crucially imply no moral judgment of what they’re designing.

…Anyway, I created a Userscript for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old format. This took a lot of tweaking and it’s not perfect at all, but if anyone wants it I’ll be uploading it soonish now!
Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you’ll have a button that says “install style”, click there. (Step-by-step copied from the lovely dorothyoz39 who wrote this in a reply!)
